the blue planet

Commander Hatfield, from Canada, showed me a miracle. Although his rendition of Space Oddity is superb, the shots of our blue planet reminds me of the immensity of space.

Have a happy weekend.

WOW. I love it!!! I saw snippets on the news and was afraid the video would not play for me--I have very slow down load speed. It played perfectly. Gives a favorite old song new meaning. Thank you.

Enjoyed the music and the video, thank you for sharing.

Space is immense and probably as close as we'll ever get to infinity, but it is also cold and lonely and our lush, little planet is so vibrant and alive with life. Just wish everyone on Earth would realize and appreciate this fantastic planet of ours, cherish it and take care of it, for it is the only one we have.

The Commander seems to embody what I think of as a Canadian way of being: that sense of humour combined with capability.

Yay for our neighbors in the north & this super cool view of being an astronaut and our blue marble home.

Oh thanks, Ana. Being more of a collective than a nation of individuals, we tend not to make a big deal about individuals who make great contributions to society. However we do love our Commander and are very proud of him!!
