when unhappy, take action

Fish guy is coming along ;-)

I just wanted to let you guys know: I QUIT!!!!!!! I QUIT MY JOB TODAY!!!!!!!!

My job has been making me miserable for quite some time now. Many times, I wanted to tell all to go to hell and leave.

I have my husband to thank for helping me keep level headed and make the move when I had another job lined up. So this is what I could not tell you guys. I had this other job lined up but got confirmation today. Better money, better position, more time out of the office. I think I will like it.

I think the lesson I have been learning always, day after day, is that in the end we hold our destinies. When not happy with a situation, WE need to change it. It is not always easy and I know it. Sometimes is just not possible, at that time. But we, and no one else, have the controls of our lives.

Thank you all for your support and friendship. It means the world to me!

I think it is just wonderful that you now have the opportunity to lead a happier lifestyle. How awful it is to be miserable. Good luck and best wishes, Ana! Aloha from Hawaii.

First of all, I'm reading backwards, so I'm eager to see the post below with the fish evolution. I love the piece.

And three cheers and congratulations. You are so smart and so right to do what you did and strategically so you would be protected. Go, good husband! And wise YOU for listening to the advice. I've been walking a bit of that same journey as I anticipate retirement this year. All I can say is good for you and I'm so very happy you came to this point!

Oi Ana,

Congratulations!!! This is just what I've been telling my girlfriend for YEARS -- she is regularly complaining/moaning/crying about how miserable she is at work, and yet she doesn't do anything concrete about changing the situation. You are so right -- our joy is in our own hands!

Oh, wishing you very good luck in your new job ... around here there are no jobs ... my daughter's job was outsourced to Indian (a tech job in California) ten years ago and she's never recovered and I have to say not that she didn't put in a lot of effort ... I don't know what this all means, but we're waiting for the Universe to let us know ... anyway, I'm happy for you and let us know how it goes.

Love and Light,
Jan
