Life is Abundant

I am not sure what has been going on with the time, but the hours seem to be disappearing on me. By the time I get home from work and cook dinner, it's time to go to sleep. I will post some of the sketches from my trip to Brazil, but as of yet, I have not even unpacked.

However, I do have something to share with you: many problems we have, a lot of them, are insignificant. There are so many beautiful things in Brazil, but truth is the world live with a LOT less than what we have in the US and they are generally happier.

Life is really a blessing and having more really does not mean much in the big scheme of things. When I think of life in a continuum of life and death, most of my "problems" are no problems at all.

I want to live everyday remembering that the actions, the love, and the moments are what really matter. The rest is just an illusion.

P.S. I cooked both recipes above this weekend and they are DELICIOUS!!!

They look delicious Ana!
And, it is true, we take so much for granted maybe because its always been there, or here, depending on your perspective...I have, of late, been practicing words of gratitude for simple things, basic things, such as a warm shower, clean sheets, food in the refrigerator, a stove that works, shoes, a car that runs, my nice house and good health along with the people in my life, it really puts you in a good place...to say thank you for such basic everyday things...it can be very humbling...this life we live....

I have kind of the same feelings about time - I just walked up and now is midday already...

Oh I totally know what you mean about the time! Once I get home, get showered, and have dinner, it's almost 8 o'clock!

More is not necessarily better. Your statement at the end is truly what is important.

Those both look fabulous. Thanks for the links.

I learned your living everyday blessing last year when I was sick. I always kind of knew -- that just sent the message home. It makes even the hardest parts more bearable. Good for you!

Very true! I think about how fortunate I am every day! Also I wonder where does time go? Have a good one!

Yum! Invite me to your house for dinner!

And so true. I just re-read "A Christmas Carol" and that point is made very well.

That does look yummy!

I agree, so many of our problems are insignificant. It's strange how having more has made us less, somehow, isn't it? I wonder if part of struggling is actually part of happiness as well. We need the struggle to feel good, and secure, and accomplished and thus satisfied.

I could not agree with you more. My partner and I planning on some major downsizing over the next few years so we can work less and enjoy more.

Those dishes look yummy, and visiting abroad gives us perspective on our own lives. I spent a year in college in Turkey and that changed the way I look at life, in some ways. For example, I treasure our religious freedom more. For example, in Istanbul today you can not build a new church.
