Saturday Musings

This morning, I woke up to a puddle of pee so big I thought a horse had an accident in my living room. Inspired by Martha's and Jane's posts on teaching our furry kids a lesson, I followed suit. Sparky aka Shushu is a very sensitive pooch with a heart condition. So when I yelled "bad boy," as I cleaned the mess for 25 minutes!!!! :-0, he started shaking all over.

Yes, it always works... I feel like crap and hug him saying "no, good boy, good boy, mom loves you..." *sigh* I am such a sucker.

Our solution is what my husband and I call the "man belt." You know, we call it the "man belt" in order to make the whole diaper thing less humiliating.

But this is what Shushu has to say about the above: "They call it the "man belt." I call it a f*cking twisted way to punish me for pissing in the living room."

I continue to have fun with Marie's watercolors. I absolutely love the pigmentation on them. Not shabby for such inexpensive watercolors.

They flow easily on both hot and cold press watercolor paper.

And FW ink adds sweet details.

9 x 12 Fabriano extra white hot press watercolor paper

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Oh God, Ana! Look at his little face! This is hilarious...I too have a little pup who has "accidents". He also goes into full Laurence Olivier mode if I remonstrate with him. I am putty in his paws, and he knows it. This artwork is just beautiful, are you still selling your work?

Or should it be the 'Awww Maaaaan I'm in Trouble Again' belt?

Beautiful painting, and as another reader asked, are you still selling your work?

Oh poor baby. Don't have a heart attack little baby. What a darling.Accidents do happen and I'm sure he felt bad. My family pet member (fpm) did that one day because she couldn't hold it any longer. She tried yanking on me to let me know, and I was painting so she took off running and I thought she was going to get her baby to play with. After a few minutes when she didn't come back, I grew curious and went in bedroom 1 to see if she was there and wasn't. I checked the computer bedroom and there she was in the day bed looking guilty, tee hee. I said, what did you do? She put her head down and looked at the floor and I looked over there and saw the puddle. Did you do that, I said? did you? huh, did you? No, no, don't pee in house, for shame, for shame. lol. By that time she was all curled in a ball. I went to her and hugged and kissed her and said it was okay, my fault, but don't do no more like that. :))Aren't our fpm just awesome? :) I love my dogs and they love me. Poor babys, we are all they have. Take care. This was a fun post.

Poor puppy. I know. I do it with my girls, too. They are cats and only pee on the floor if the litter box is terrible, and that is my fault, but 25 min cleaning up pee sucks.

I love that painting, and the colours made me gasp.

Oh my, the way you wrote this post had me laughing out loud! Poor Sparky and his man belt. You do some lovely painting.

(ps - You were wondering if Saul the dog, who I showed on my blog today, was homeless. He's not .. He is always being walked by an elderly man who clearly loves him a lot.)

Hahaha...the man belt is hilarious! I've never heard of it before. Poor little pup...I bet he felt real bad about it all.

Love your art work, Ana! The colours are vibrant and beautiful; exactly what appeals to me! And exactly what I'd love hanging on my walls to really bring the rooms to life.

Thank you so much for you nice comment on my blog. My heart made happy jumps cause I seldom meet people that understand my need for living simple. Big smile to you and thanks for sharing this picture you have painted. It is really beautiful.

Mmmmmm like your butterfly watercolours very much !

(don't like the sign on your dog though .... better make another pic with a sign saying: "I'm dearly loved" ..... ;-) !)

Funny sign and interesting about the "man belt." Mighty has me so trained that when he makes a rare mistake, I apologize over and over to him for not taking better care of his bladder needs. I think that makes me "whipped."

Jane said...

Lol, poor sweetie :) Occasionally our Emma has an 'accident' and I always feel guilty getting after her as well. Glad to see you're at least getting (& sharing) a laugh out of the incident!

Love your watercolour. It's striking - just gorgeous :D

Awww our furry friends never cease to add color to our lives. I can't wait for us to invite a dog to live in our home. I don't think there's anything wrong with laying down the law and then giving a hug. I wish my dad would have down more of that when I was little. it was all business with him, lol.

Your painting is beautiful. There's delicacy and strength. Makes me happy! xoxo!
