My color is irrelevant. So is the country I was born in, what language I speak, or what G-d I pray to, if I pray at all. It is irrelevant how much money I have in the bank or what car I drive. It is irrelevant if my clothes are from a famous label or no label.
What's relevant is that my skin is used to caress. That the country and culture I was born into do not close my eyes to embrace the new and the different. That the language I speak be used in kindness instead of hatred. That the G-d I pray to is a G-d of kindness and if I don't pray at all, that my acts speak louder than my words. That the money I have, little or much, be used to provide to my loved ones or to those not so loved. That the car I drive don't be the status symbol that determines my worth but just be the transportation that I need. That the clothes I wear transmit the feelings of my heart, be it happy hippie, preppy professional or beach relaxed. As long as it is not sewed by a child or adult in a sweatshop.

You and I have been thinking a lot about what matters in life... You are so thoughtful and caring...and sensitive. I like the way you think, Ana. I hope you are finding peace.
What a different world we would live in if people thought like you throughout history.
Yes. This.

Well stated. From where I sit, kindness, caring, love, generosity of spirit and hope will trump money, status and excess any day.
